Thurrock U18s 1-2 Billericay Town U18s (HT 0-1) Match report by John Mifsud. Unfortunately, and not for the first time, the hosts found themselves on the wrong side of a score line, against a team and in a competition that really matters? Billericay Town F.C. and the County Cup. This well fancied BSS (Blue Square Side) did little to dent our very own abbreviation of BBS meaning (Billericay Blue Steel). |

Harlow Town U18s 0-9 Billericay Town U18s Eastern Junior Alliance League Sunday 11th October Young Blues hit Harlow Town for Nine. Match report by John Mifsud.
The young guns carried on in their winning ways after a trip up to Harlow Town. The game started very lively with some neat passing from both sides. The young blues had to wait until the 25th minute before the first breakthrough, when Billericay were awarded a penalty. Harlow's Shane Turner was deemed to have handled the ball in the penalty area, so up stepped Mike Marsh only to slot the ball wide, no doubt had Pizza Hut on his mind! But all was forgiven when 5 minutes later they were awarded a free kick for which Brad Hooper coolly slid the ball to Billy Radley who span off the wall and slid an inch perfect cross for Kofi Kessie to get his first goal of the day - a training day set-piece that paid off. Then on 35 minutes, Kessie was put through with a killer pass from Hooper to see him slot the ball past the helpless oncoming Harlow's keeper to claim his second of the day. On 40 minutes Harlow's Dan Westall hit an unstoppable great driver but Town's keeper Lewis Lockyer was equal to it, pulling off the save of the season to push the ball across the goal on to the cross bar. |
